Beachfront resort with palm trees and sun loungers in Tulum's Zona Hotelera
location_on Destinations

Tulum's legendary hotel zone — a stretch of eco-hotels, boho-chic beach clubs, and yoga studios strung along the Caribbean coast through dense tropical jungle.

Zona Hotelera

Zona Hotelera is the stretch of coastline that made Tulum famous. Running along the Boca Paila road, it is home to Tulum's most celebrated eco-hotels, boutique beachfront properties, yoga centers, and beach clubs — all woven into dense tropical jungle that grows right to the sand's edge.

The Aesthetic

Open-air palapa structures, natural materials, cenotes discovered within property grounds, outdoor showers — an atmosphere more like a wellness retreat than a conventional beach resort.

Beach Clubs

Papaya Playa Project, Vagalume, Mía, and Casa Jaguar have made Tulum a world-class destination. Many host internationally recognized DJs and wellness events. Entrance fees: $500–$2,000 MXN typically.

Getting Around

Bicycles are the preferred transport. Rentals available in Tulum Pueblo and most hotels. Flat road, 15–20 minutes from town, passing cenotes and jungle at every turn.
