Bioluminescence Tour by Car at Holbox

This is an evening tour by golf cart on Holbox to watch bioluminescence and the night sky. It lasts about 75 minutes and heads to the bay at Punta Cocos or its surroundings, a dark spot chosen for observing the phenomenon.

Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon caused by the large concentration of plankton in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the operator, a chemical reaction makes it light up the coast each night. It follows a moon calendar, so the exact time of your tour is confirmed with the operator, who asks you to make contact through WhatsApp.

The dark setting also makes the sky part of the show. The operator says you can see a blanket of stars, constellations, galaxies, nebulae and planets, and that the place suits observing with binoculars and telescopes and for astrophotography.
