Balloon Flight + Breakfast in a cave + Pick up CDMX + Pyramids

This is a morning excursion from Mexico City to Teotihuacan that combines a hot air balloon flight, breakfast (optionally inside a natural cave), a cultural talk with a tasting and time at the pyramids. The listing offers two packages: flight only, or the full package with transportation from the city.

If you choose the package with transportation, pickup is between 4:30 and 4:50 a.m. to arrive in Teotihuacan around 5:30 a.m. The pickup radius is 10 km from the historic center, and if your hotel is farther away the meeting point is the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel; an extra cost of 200 MXN is mentioned for addresses beyond the radius. Travelers with the flight-only package must arrive at the facilities at 6:00 a.m.

On arrival you check in, watch a safety video and have coffee and cookies. The balloon flight lasts roughly 40 to 60 minutes, depending entirely on the weather. The pilot only controls ascent and descent, while the wind sets the direction. The operator films the journey with a drone and, after landing, shows footage captured by the drone and professional cameras.

Breakfast follows, in a restaurant inside a completely natural cave if you chose the cave option, or at the brunch restaurant listed among the inclusions. Then comes a short introduction led by a local artisan, covering obsidian, maguey and precious stones, with a tasting of pulque and xoconostle liqueur. After that you have about an hour to explore the archaeological zone, including the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the Avenue of the Dead and the pre-Hispanic museum, and you can climb the Pyramid of the Moon on your own.

The return to your hotel is estimated between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., while the tour itself ends around noon. The entrance to the archaeological zone is not included, and the listing gives two different prices (about 10 USD, or approximately 210 MXN, in the exclusions and 5 USD in the itinerary), so confirm the amount at booking.
