ATV Bike Double Safari

This half-day off-road outing takes you into the Sierra Madre Mountains behind Puerto Vallarta. The operator pitches it as the best way to see what it calls the real Mexico, and the listing gives the activity a duration of 240 minutes.

The route heads up into the hills off the paved road. Along the way you can talk with local people and learn how they live and what they do day to day, which is what sets this trip apart from a purely mechanical ride. The trip also reaches a natural swimming pool where you can cool off, take photographs and enjoy the surroundings.

The title mentions an ATV double safari, meaning a vehicle shared by two people, while the inclusions list only bicycle use. The listing does not clear up this difference, so confirm with the operator which vehicle you will ride and how it is shared before you book.

This tour suits travelers who want scenery and contact with village life more than a quick thrill. The listing says it is suitable for all physical fitness levels, but it is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers or those with poor cardiovascular health. Take that advice seriously given the off-road terrain.

On arrival at the meeting point, your tour guide will be waiting for you wearing a company t-shirt. The listing does not give the address, so ask for it when you book. Bring swimwear if you plan to use the natural pool, along with a camera for the views.
