Catamaran Yelapa Beach Tour with Snorkeling, Food and Open Bar

This is a catamaran day trip from Puerto Vallarta to Yelapa, a fishing village without cars set among green mountains, with a snorkeling stop at Majahuitas along the way. The price includes breakfast, lunch, an open bar with alcoholic drinks, snorkeling equipment and a range of water activities, so it works as an all-day outing.

You start at the Maritime Terminal, where you register and pass a security check before boarding; the listing puts this at around 35 minutes. Check-in is at 9:10 am and departure at 10:00 am, in the Puerto Vallarta time zone (GMT-6). Breakfast is served as the catamaran crosses Banderas Bay.

The first stop is the Majahuitas area, where you have about 45 minutes in the water to look for tropical fish and coral, and perhaps a sea turtle. The activities on offer are snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding and inflatable floats, all subject to sea conditions.

At Yelapa you have about three and a half hours. A small boat takes you from the catamaran to the beach, and you leave your belongings at the restaurant. You can walk to the Horsetail waterfall, or rent a horse or a quad bike at extra cost, with a local guide sharing facts about the village. At the waterfall you can take photos and swim. If you prefer, spend the time on the beach or at the restaurant, where you order food and drinks. Local beach activities are optional and cost extra.

The last part is the return aboard the catamaran, about two hours of open bar, games and contests until you reach the starting point. Wear suitable footwear for the waterfall hike, since there are many stones. Drinks and extra food in the restaurant, optional beach activities and the port tax for Puerto Magico are not included. Children aged 0 to 2 go free. The tour is not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health.
