Cowboy for a Day Experience in Puerto Vallarta

This is a six-hour day at Rancho Mi Abuelo, a traditional ranch on the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta, built around country life and Mexican rural traditions. The experience is inspired by Cowboy Nick, described as the heart and soul of the ranch, and about four hours of the day are spent at the ranch itself.

The adventure starts at a meeting point across from the El Toro Marisquero restaurant, where the team welcomes you and takes you to the ranch in an air-conditioned vehicle. Once there, you tour the grounds and meet the farm animals in a natural setting.

Activities include a horseback ride at the ranch and a cow milking experience. You also join a hands-on cooking session where you learn to make tortillas by hand and traditional tacos with local ingredients, and afterwards you sit down to a ranch-style lunch in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. A tequila and mezcal tasting is part of the package.

To finish, there is time to relax and cool off in the natural pools surrounded by nature, before you return to the meeting point. The operator recommends the experience for people who want to connect with local culture and see the Mexican countryside up close.

Guests must be 18 or older to take part in the tequila tasting. The experience is wheelchair accessible, and infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Service animals are allowed and public transportation options are available nearby. It is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or for pregnant travelers, and a moderate level of physical fitness is expected.
