Guaranteed Hidden Beach • Private Tour • Punta Mita

This is a private boat tour to the Marietas Islands that departs from Punta Mita, described as the closest departure point to the islands. Only your own group takes part, so the captain and guide focus on you alone. The tour is listed at 180 minutes, and within that time you decide which activities to do and when to head back.

The day begins at the Punta Mita pier, where the team gives general directions before you board the private boat. The crossing takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes, depending on sea conditions. At the islands, the highlight is Playa Escondida, also called Playa del Amor. You reach it by swimming 80 to 100 metres through a natural tunnel, always accompanied by a certified guide, and the stay on the beach is around 30 minutes. The guide carries your phone safely and takes photos from the best angles.

After the hidden beach you go snorkeling with the equipment provided, in an area chosen on the day as the best available. The tour also includes a visit to Playa Nopalera, described as a good place to walk and explore natural caves at your own pace. On the way back you may see marine fauna, and the trip ends in Punta Mita.

Included are a lifejacket, non-alcoholic drinks, the entrance to Playa Escondida, snorkeling equipment and a waterproof bag or container for phones and cameras. Food is not included. Spaces are limited, so booking ahead is advisable. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen, a camera or phone and drinks in thermoses or reusable bottles.

Several rules protect the islands: no shoes on the beach activities, no bags, backpacks, suitcases, food or drinks on the beaches, no littering, no alcohol during your stay in Marietas (only on the way there and back), and no drones, per CONANP regulations. The tour is not recommended for pregnant travellers or people with poor cardiovascular health, and you should have at least a moderate level of fitness. The minimum age is 10 and the maximum is 64.
