Hiking through the mountains of Puerto Vallarta and glass viewpoint

This hike takes you into the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains above Puerto Vallarta, following a nature trail through forest that's home to orchids, coapinol and parota trees, and birdlife such as parakeets and macaws, all pointed out along the way by your guide.

A highlight of the route is the area's newer glass viewpoint, which gives a 360-degree view over the mountains surrounding Puerto Vallarta, a good spot to take in the scale of the landscape you've been walking through.

The outing also includes a guided crossing of a suspension bridge and a stop at a waterfall, rounding out a roughly five-hour route that mixes hiking with these fixed points of interest.

Along the way, transport service, seasonal fruit, bottled water, and a tequila tasting are provided, giving you a taste of the region to go with the scenery.

Because it involves sustained walking in mountain terrain, this tour isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, cardiovascular conditions, or for pregnant travelers, and participants should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Food, other drinks, and tips are not included, so plan to bring your own meal or arrange one separately if the tasting and fruit aren't enough to see you through the five hours.
