Horse Back Riding, Zipline and ATV Experience

This full-day adventure from Puerto Vallarta strings together three outdoor activities in the foothills of the Sierra Madre: horseback riding, an ATV ride and a zipline circuit, finished with a traditional Mexican lunch. The activities take place at Rancho Capomo, and the listed duration is 360 minutes.

The day opens on horseback. You ride your own horse along the river and into the tropical rainforest, heading toward the small village of Las Palmas. It is the calmest part of the program and a gentle way to get used to the terrain before the engines start.

Next you switch to an ATV and follow off-the-beaten paths that cross rivers, muddy trails and jungle terrain. Along the route there is a stop at a waterfall, where you can swim in the cascades and natural pools. The operator notes that the amount of water varies with the season, with less in the dry months and more in the rainy ones, and that the route can change depending on conditions.

The third block is a zipline circuit of 7 lines that carries you between trees and over rivers. To close the day, you sit down to a traditional Mexican lunch, with fajitas or grilled chicken, handmade tortillas, beans and rice, plus guacamole and salsa that you prepare yourself. Drinks are included with the meal.

This tour suits travelers who want variety in a single day and who are comfortable with a physical, outdoor program; it is listed as suitable for all fitness levels. It is not recommended for people with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers or those with poor cardiovascular health. The restrictions also mention back or neck, heart, balance or dizziness conditions, and a maximum weight of 250 lbs (120 kg). Cameras are not allowed, for safety reasons.
