Horseback Riding Tour

This horseback riding tour explores the Sierra Madre mountains near Puerto Vallarta, and lasts about three hours. It is aimed at travelers who want more fun and adventure than a standard trail ride.

The ride goes through the forest, where you can see the local flora and fauna and a natural landscape the operator describes as unique and spectacular. The best-known feature of the tour is the chance to swim in the river while riding your horse, in the crystal-clear waters of the Cuale River. The itinerary itself is only a single line, so the operator can tell you more about the exact route.

The package includes a bilingual guide, a welcome drink, water during the excursion and seasonal fruit. There is also a tour and tasting of tequila, and of course the horseback ride itself.

The listing is contradictory on transport. It includes a transport service, but also lists transportation to and from the meeting point as not included. Confirm with the operator when you book what exactly is covered and how you reach the meeting point.

Lunch, drinks, tips, souvenirs and photos are not included, so bring some cash. The tour is suitable for all fitness levels, but it is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or pregnant travelers. No meeting point is listed in the listing.
