Jungle HorseBack Adventure to Las Palmas Waterfall All Included

Nakawe Adventures runs this horseback trip into the jungle and mountains behind Puerto Vallarta, riding out to Las Palmas Waterfall through the Sierra Madre foothills.

The day starts with private pickup and a scenic drive to the ranch in Las Palmas, where the local team greets you with traditional Mexican coffee while your horse is prepared. A brief safety orientation follows so you feel ready before setting off.

The horses are calm and well-trained, suited to both beginners and more experienced riders. From the ranch, the route follows the Cuale River through some of Puerto Vallarta's oldest rustic neighborhoods and out into the surrounding countryside, with guides pointing out the region's flora and fauna along the way. The ride continues on jungle paths and river crossings, working up to a lookout with sweeping views over the bay, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. In total, the ride lasts around four hours.

A stop at Las Palmas Waterfall lets you take a refreshing swim before heading back to the ranch.

Once back, a traditional Mexican meal is served, giving you a chance to relax and eat after the ride; alcoholic beverages are also included with the outing.

Given the time in the saddle and on jungle trails, the tour isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, cardiovascular conditions, or for pregnant travelers, and participants should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Private transportation, the horse and saddle, and all necessary riding gear are included, along with lunch and alcoholic beverages; gratuities and souvenirs are not.

Pickup is arranged from one of three meeting points, whichever is closest to your hotel: the OXXO in Conchas Chinas at 8:30 am, La Europea near the Marina at 9:00 am, or the Starbucks in Las Juntas at 9:15 am. Public transportation options are also available near these points if you'd rather make your own way there.
