Private Tour: El Eden ATV Adventure from Puerto Vallarta
The experience
This private ATV tour leaves from Puerto Vallarta and heads to El Eden, a spot in the jungle of the Sierra Madre. The tour is private, so your group decides how much time to spend riding and how much relaxing at each stop. It is meant for intermediate-level riders who want to see a side of Puerto Vallarta beyond the city, and the whole outing is planned to last about 240 minutes.
The ride starts through the downtown area, passing the city's iconic Malecon on the way. The first optional stop is the Los Arcos viewpoint, where you can look at the islands and take pictures for about 15 minutes, or skip it if you prefer to keep riding. The next stop is El Eden itself, which the operator says was the film set of the 1980s movie Predator. There you can swim in the river and waterfalls, relax in a hammock, or have drinks and snacks, which are not included. About 30 minutes are listed for the stop, and as a private group you decide how long you stay.
El Eden also has zip lines for extra adrenaline, not included in the price, and trails for exploring the river up the mountain. The last stop is a fishing village where you can eat the fresh catch of the day, also not included, and see everyday Mexican life. Lunch, drinks or more riding through the mountains are up to you, and about 60 minutes are listed. The description adds that you can customize the tour with tequila tasting, zip lines or other parts of the mountains.
Requirements are worth reading closely. Minimum age to drive is 16 with a driver's license or permit, and passengers must be at least 6.
