Private Tour of Puerto Vallarta and the Subtropical Forest

This is a private tour of Puerto Vallarta and the subtropical forest around it, made for you and your family to take in the city’s culture and views. The route starts with a walk along the Malecón of Puerto Vallarta, about 25 minutes, where you can see its famous sculptures and the bay and have a photo with the Caballito, one of the destination’s best-known symbols. Then you visit the city’s main church, the oldest and most emblematic, known for its local architecture and for the distinctive crown on its tower.

Next comes a short stop in the Romantic Zone, home to Playa Los Muertos, one of the destination’s most iconic beaches, and to Plaza de los Azulejos, one of the city’s most charming squares. From there the tour goes up the mountain for two viewpoints, from which you can see the north and south areas of Puerto Vallarta.

The main tasting stop is at the El Ojo de Vidrio tequilera, about 35 minutes. You learn how tequila is made there and taste 7 to 8 varieties, including tequila liquor, cream of tequila and pure tequila. The tasting is for adults of age.

On the way, a viewpoint offers a look at the Arches of Mismaloya, rock formations in the ocean, and another stop shows Mismaloya Beach and the place in the distance where the film The Night of the Iguana was shot. You then return to the Romantic Zone for about 40 minutes of free time to pick a restaurant; food is not included.

The last stop is the Municipal Market, about 20 minutes, where you can buy souvenirs and, optionally, try typical sweets in a local sweet shop. Bottled water is included; lunch and gratuities are not. Specialized infant seats are available, public transportation options are available nearby, and the tour is suitable for all fitness levels, though not recommended for people with poor cardiovascular health.
