Puerto Vallarta Self-Guided Walking Tour with Audio Guide

This is a self-guided walking tour of Puerto Vallarta's Old Town that you follow with an audio guide on your phone. It tells the stories of Old Vallarta and points out some of the best places to eat along the way. There is no live guide, and you set your own pace.

The route passes street performers on the Malecon Boardwalk, the Old Town market, the lights at the PV Pier and the house that Richard Burton bought for Elizabeth Taylor. The audio commentary mentions other stops too: a Huichol art shop, Tierra Huichol, with its beadwork sculptures and yarn paintings; the streets of Centro and Gringo Gulch; Casa Kimberley and its restaurant, the Iguana; the Iguana Bridge over the Cuale River; the Los Muertos Brewing craft brewery; Lazaro Cardenas Park and its Saturday market; and the stairs down to the river bridge and a stretch of souvenir stalls.

Once downloaded it works offline, using GPS to trigger the audio stories automatically as you walk. You can begin at the suggested starting point or join the route anywhere, and you can pause for photos or a break whenever you like. Supported devices are iPhones with iOS 15 or later, Android 9 or later, or a GPS-enabled iPad or tablet with cellular capability.

The listing gives two different lengths: about 3.5 miles and around three hours in one place, and 1 to 2 hours, over 3 miles and more than 61 audio stories in another. Plan for a couple of hours at least and confirm the details when you book. It is suitable for all physical fitness levels.
