The Sierra Madre ATV Adventure from Puerto Vallarta takes you by ATV through small Mexican villages and along the Cuale River into the Sierra Madre Mountains. Before you reach the mountain trails, you drive the ATV through the old town of Puerto Vallarta, so expect some time on town streets first. The tour operates rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe.

There are two ways to book. With the driver-only option, the price is per ATV: choose the number of travelers and you are assigned that number of ATVs. With the driver-and-passenger option, one ATV is shared by two people, so you can only select an even number of travelers. All drivers must have a valid driver's license, the minimum age is 6, children must be accompanied by an adult, and the maximum combined weight is 400 lbs (180 kg).

The price includes a guide, the use of a helmet, photos and videos, and all taxes, fees and handling charges. Food and drinks, gratuities and hotel pickup are not included. The tour leaves promptly, so arrive 15 minutes early for check-in, and bring the credit card used for the purchase, which must be presented at check-in. Cruise ship passengers should allow 90 minutes from the ship's docking time to reach the location.

Bring closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, Mexican pesos for souvenirs, and snacks and gratuities for the guide. The tour requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness. It is not recommended for pregnant travelers, for travelers with spinal injuries or for those with poor cardiovascular health, and people with heart problems cannot take part.
