Snorkel & Playa nopalera • Small Group Tour • Punta Mita

This small-group tour departs from the pier at Punta Mita for a morning that combines snorkeling near the Marietas Islands with a stop at Playa Nopalera, aimed at travelers who want to see the islands without minding sharing the boat with a few other guests. It runs on a roofed boat with a boarding ladder, and the operator designs the pace and organization to work for travelers of all ages.

After boarding at the pier, the boat sails roughly 15 to 20 minutes toward the Marietas Islands, with views of the surrounding marine environment and rock formations along the way, depending on sea conditions that day.

Snorkeling takes up about 25 to 30 minutes, with the group sharing the activity together under the constant support of a certified guide who leads everyone through safe areas to look at fish and other marine life.

From there, the boat continues to Playa Nopalera, where you can swim, walk along the shore, and explore natural caves and rock formations — a stop for photos as well as a chance to get in the water again. This tour does not include the entrance to Hidden Beach (Playa Escondida, also known as the "beach of love"), which is a separate stop on some other Marietas itineraries.

The return trip retraces the route back to Punta Mita, with more opportunities to spot local marine wildlife and coastal scenery before the boat ties up again at the pier.

The price includes a life jacket, non-alcoholic beverages, transportation by private boat, snorkeling equipment, and a waterproof bag or container to protect your phone or camera on the beaches. Food and the entrance fee to Hidden Beach are not included. The tour requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness and isn't recommended for pregnant travelers or those with poor cardiovascular health; public transportation options are available nearby.
