Whale and Dolphin Watching with a Biologist in Puerto Vallarta

Run by Wildlife Connection, this tour takes small groups out on the water around Puerto Vallarta to see whales and dolphins in their natural environment, with the added angle that it doubles as participation in a research project focused on understanding and protecting the local dolphin population.

Guides are professional biologists rather than general tour staff, and they share their knowledge of the animals throughout the outing — the operator frames this as a more natural way to observe and enjoy whales and dolphins than a typical wildlife-watching boat trip, built around research and respect for the animals rather than getting as close as possible.

The tour is listed as suitable for all physical fitness levels and is wheelchair accessible. Service animals are allowed, infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller, infants are required to sit on an adult's lap, and public transportation options are available nearby. It is not recommended for travelers who are more than seven months pregnant.

The price includes snacks, bottled water, carbonated beverages, and lunch, with no exclusions listed by the operator.
