Hike to Monkey Mountain

This half-day hike climbs Monkey Mountain, on the Riviera Nayarit coast, and is designed as a biocultural walk rather than a simple outing. Your guide, Jair, connects the landscape with local knowledge and with the history of the communities that have lived on this land. The activity lasts about 240 minutes.

The route follows jungle trails where you can observe native flora and fauna in their natural habitat, with views along the way. The point of the walk is to understand how the territory, its ecosystems and its communities are linked, and why keeping that relationship intact matters for the future of the region.

The tour belongs to a new initiative that promotes alternative, biocultural and community-based tourism, aiming to change how visitors and local communities relate to the territory. The idea is that you leave knowing not only the place but also its natural and cultural value and the people who keep it alive.

It suits travelers who like walking with context, who want to learn as they climb, and who have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. It is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers or anyone with poor cardiovascular health.
