Sunset Hike & Beach Picnic

This sunset hike leads you to one of Sayulita's quieter, hidden beaches, where you finish the day with a seaside picnic. The walk is easy, with a level rated low, over flat jungle trails, and the round trip is 5.5 km (3.4 miles). The experience runs about three hours in total.

You start at the Monkey Peruvian Kitchen restaurant in downtown Sayulita and head toward the southern part of town until you reach a small viewpoint with a pleasant view of Sayulita beach. Later you pass Sayulita's cemetery and see another of the area's most beautiful beaches.

The route then continues along a jungle path to the destination beach, a secluded and quiet stretch of volcanic sand in black and yellow tones, well suited to watching the sunset. On the way, the guide shares information about the local landscape, vegetation and wildlife, and about the history, culture and traditions of Sayulita.

At the beach you have a seaside picnic while the sun goes down. You can choose your favorite appetizers from a selection of snacks and products prepared by different local restaurants in Sayulita. After sunset the group walks back to the starting point.

The outing suits families, couples and anyone who wants a light hike and a calm moment by the ocean. It is suitable for all fitness levels but not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. The price includes the guide, snacks, drinks, a headlamp, a beach blanket and bug spray.
