Half-Day Tour to Merida & its Traditional Gastronomy

This private half-day tour pairs a walk through Merida's historic center with a running tasting of Yucatecan food and drink, and is designed to work for travelers of any age.

After pickup at your hotel lobby, the five-hour tour takes you along Paseo Montejo, built between 1886 and 1905, where many of the grand mansions lining the avenue now operate as museums open to visitors. From there you'll pass the Monument to the Fatherland and the market and Santiago neighborhood, then continue through the La Mejorada, San Sebastian, and La Ermita neighborhoods.

The tour continues on foot through the historic core: Plaza Grande, the Cathedral, Montejo's House, the Town Hall, and Picheta Passage, followed by La Revolucion Passage on Street 60, the Third Order Church, and Santa Lucia Park.

Throughout the walk, your certified guide builds in culinary stops so you can taste the city's traditional foods and drinks while learning about Merida's history along the way.
