The experience
This walking tour takes you through some of Merida's most traditional markets to sample typical Yucatecan food and sweets, guided by a local host with a background as an expert cook.
Along the way, you'll learn about the history behind some of Merida's best-known dishes, as well as the buildings you pass, and vegetarian options are available for those who need them.
The tour runs for about 90 minutes and is wheelchair accessible, with the operator noting that transportation options, areas and surfaces along the route are accessible as well; infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller, service animals are allowed, and public transportation options are available nearby.
Carbonated beverages and lunch are included as part of the experience; souvenirs are not included.
