The experience
This guided bike tour shows Mérida through a mix of history, culture and city scenes. You ride with a certified local guide for about 120 minutes, moving between the colonial streets, the landmarks of the Historic Center and more modern spaces.
The operator says the ride also explains the city's urban transformation, and it passes through modern areas such as Gran Parque La Plancha. Along the way there are photo stops at key spots.
One of them is Paseo de Montejo, the avenue lined with elegant historic mansions, where you can take pictures in front of the Monument to the Homeland.
The tour is aimed at travelers who want to get to know the city in an active, sustainable way, and who like to see contrasts between tradition and modernity. Because you cycle for the whole activity, the operator asks for at least a moderate level of physical fitness.
The price includes a safety helmet throughout the tour, bottled water and the use of bicycles. Entrance fees are not included. Public transportation options are available nearby.
It is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, for pregnant travelers or for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. The operator does not state a meeting point, so confirm it when you book.
