Private Chichen Itza, Tsukan Cenote and Izamal Tour from Merida

Private Chichen Itza, Tsukan Cenote and Izamal Tour from Merida

Private Chichen Itza, Tsukan Cenote and Izamal Tour from Merida is a private day trip that links three signature destinations of Yucatan: the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, Tsukan Cenote and the yellow town of Izamal. You travel only with your group, in a private air-conditioned vehicle, with pickup and drop-off at your Merida hotel or Airbnb.

The day starts early, with pickup at 6:00 a.m., so you can explore Chichen Itza before the largest crowds. A certified English-speaking guide leads a private tour of about 1 hour 30 minutes through El Castillo, the Great Ball Court, the Temple of the Warriors, the Platform of the Eagles and Jaguars, El Caracol, the Sacred Cenote and the Main Plaza. Then you have 20 to 30 minutes for photos or independent exploration.

Next comes Tsukan Santuario de Vida, where you have about 1 hour 15 minutes to swim and relax. Admission, life jacket, changing rooms, showers and a hammock area are included. You then have a regional Yucatecan buffet with one house beverage; the total time at Tsukan is around 2 hours 15 minutes. An optional locker, at approximately US$2 paid on site, and other purchases are paid directly.

The last stop is Izamal, with a private guided walk of roughly 1 hour 15 minutes. You see the area around the San Antonio de Padua Convent, the Main Square, the yellow colonial streets and the Kinich Kakmo Pyramid, subject to operating conditions and access available on the day. Your bilingual driver provides transportation and assistance but does not replace the site guide.

This tour suits travelers who prefer a private pace and a full day covering ruins, swimming and a colonial town. It is described as suitable for all physical fitness levels. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller, infants are required to sit on an adult's lap, specialized infant seats are available, and service animals are allowed.

One point needs care: Chichen Itza admission is not included and is paid at the official ticket office, even though the general inclusions list also mentions admission fees. Tolls, fuel and parking are covered. Gratuities, a locker, towels and personal swimming items are extra. Bring a towel and swimwear, and confirm with the operator what the admission line covers before you book. Pickups outside Merida are not included and require prior confirmation.
