Uxmal and Kabah Mayan Ruins Day Trip

This day trip follows the Puuc Route to explore two of the most striking archaeological sites in Yucatán: Uxmal and Kabah, combining history with a stop to swim in a cenote and a traditional regional lunch, over about seven hours.

The visit opens at Uxmal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important cities of the ancient Maya. You explore structures such as the Pyramid of the Magician and the Governor's Palace while your bilingual guide shares the history, architecture and beliefs behind the site.

From there you continue to Kabah, another archaeological site along the Puuc Route, known for its distinctive architectural style and for the Palace of the Masks, dedicated to the rain god Chaac. Kabah was once an important religious and ceremonial center, connected to Uxmal by an ancient Mayan road known as a sacbé.

After the two archaeological sites, the tour stops at a cenote, a natural freshwater sinkhole considered sacred by the Maya, where you can swim, relax and cool off surrounded by the Yucatán landscape. The day then closes with a traditional regional meal, giving you a chance to try authentic Yucatecan flavors before heading back.

The tour includes round-trip transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, a professional bilingual guide in English and Spanish, bottled water, and guided visits to both Uxmal and Kabah, plus the cenote stop and lunch. Drinks during lunch, gratuities, personal expenses, souvenirs and admission fees to the sites are not included, so it is worth bringing extra cash for those.

Because the sites involve walking outdoors in warm weather over some uneven ground and steps, a moderate level of fitness is recommended, and the tour is not advised for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers, or those with severe mobility limitations; infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller or sit on an adult's lap, and specialized infant seats are available.

Pickup times shown at booking are for reference only; your exact time gets confirmed the afternoon before the tour and can differ by around 45 minutes in either direction. If your hotel falls outside the pickup coverage, you will be given a nearby meeting point instead. Have your confirmation voucher and photo ID ready at pickup, and plan to be waiting a few minutes before your confirmed time, since rescheduling depends on availability and can carry an extra charge.
