Merida : Traditional flavors, Walking Tour

This is a guided food walk through the stalls of Lucas de Gálvez Market in Mérida, lasting about an hour and a half. The idea is to taste the city's traditional flavors in places that residents themselves frequent, with a local guide who also gives context on Mérida and its surroundings.

You meet at the entrance of Lucas de Gálvez Market, behind the Mexico Post Office and Museum. The team waits five minutes before starting. The walk opens with traditional refreshing drinks and the first dish of the day: authentic cochinita pibil, a classic of Yucatecan cuisine.

The next stop is for local fruit, with visits to typical stands and an explanation of the region's products and customs. Later you try relleno negro, or black stuffing, one of the most emblematic preparations of Yucatecan cooking. The guide presents it as more than a dish: an expression of the region's culinary history. The group then returns to the starting point to say goodbye.

The tour suits food lovers who prefer a short, focused market visit to a long walk. It is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all physical fitness levels, and public transportation options are available nearby.
