In a Colonial-era building dating from 1790, this laid-back hostel is a 12-minute walk from the Palacio Cantón, a cultural history museum in an ornate building, and 8 km from Mérida International Airport. Simple mixed-sex and female-only dorms have bunk beds, lockers and fans, as well as shared bathrooms. Private rooms are available; some have air-conditioning and/or private facilities. Age restrictions apply in some quarters. Parking, public Wi-Fi and breakfast are free, as are salsa and cookery classes. There's an outdoor pool with poolside hammocks, plus a shared kitchen, terrace seating and regular live music. Tours are available.
