About the destination
Los Cabos is the twin-town resort corridor at the very tip of the Baja California peninsula, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez against a backdrop of cactus desert and granite headlands. Cabo San Lucas brings the marina, nightlife and the iconic El Arco rock arch at Land’s End; quieter San José del Cabo answers with a colonial plaza, gallery-filled art district and Thursday-evening art walks in high season.
Between them runs a 30-kilometer corridor of beaches and coves — snorkel-friendly Chileno and Santa María among the best. From roughly December to April, gray and humpback whales pass close to shore, and year-round the cape is one of the world’s premier sport-fishing grounds.
